Larimar Necklace Genuine Aqua Sea Glass Jewelry Caribbean Jewelry Dominican Republic Cruise Necklace
Beautiful Larimar Necklace In Genuine Aqua Sea Glass And Sterling Silver!
Handmade, Caribbean dream necklace! Created with Larimar (the only gemstone of the Caribbean) and a genuine aqua sea glass gem found in Puerto Rico, this lovely piece will remind you of the long, sunny days spent by the Caribbean sea!
Larimar is found exclusively in the Dominican Republic. It gets it name from the man who discovered it who took his daughter's name (Larissa) and the Spanish word for sea (Mar) and combined them. I fell in love with this gemstone during my recent February trip to The Caribbean. The colors in the stone seem made for the blues of genuine sea glass.
The Larimar strand on this necklace was created with a series of small Larimar chips strung together on Sterling Silver. Swarovski crystal pearls accentuate the Larimar and really help it pop. Plus, they bring another ocean element to the piece. A gorgeous, aqua sea glass gem acts as the focal piece! A stuning Sterling Silver wave-design, toggle clasp completes the handmade necklace. This Sterling Silver necklace was custom made at 16 1/2" in length. I can make is longer if desired. Just contact me for information.
***Please remember, ALL of my sea glass is genuine, ocean-tumbled sea glass that I collect off the rocky and sandy shores myself. It is NEVER machine-tumbled. Please pay close attention to listings for sea glass and do not be afraid to ask questions about where the sea glass originated from. Machine-tumbled glass has hit the market and listed sometimes falsely as genuine sea glass. When it is too consistent in shape to other pieces, has too many rare colors in similar shapes, has a smoother rather than more pitted patina or its price does not reflect the value of the sea glass, it is probably too good to be true. When in doubt, please ask. You are helping to preserve the integrity of the sea glass art by doing so and I along with my colleagues thank you for that :)
Since I collect all of my own sea glass, I would love to provide you with the location, date and story behind the discovery of the pieces of sea glass used to create this piece. If you would like to know more about the history of this sea glass, please convo me. I would be happy to provide you with a written record of it as well. Remember, you are purchasing not only a piece of beauty, but a piece of history as well!!
Like all of my jewelry, this necklace comes beautifully-boxed with pretty ribbon - ready for gift-giving! Complementary gift card available upon request.
